Hey NTAd, A member via Twitter had suggested, "Just a Spoonful of Sugar" from Mary Poppins! I like that! I like "Hero" by Mariah Carrey, myself. :) |

| Working 9 to 5, well on second thought, no one really works 9 to 5 as a nurse. I will have to think about this one. |

| 'Doctor Doctor' by Thompson Twins (used on an hourly basis), 'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon (for some consultants and other specialists), 'Working on the Chain Gang' by The Pretenders, 'Push the Button' by Sugarbabes (esp for ICU and the high dependency units), 'I Wanna Be Sedated' by Ramones or even Shonen Knife, and 'That's Not My Name' by The Ting-Tings (for those medical staff who never make an effort to remember names) ... I would include 'Dr Love' Tina Charles, and 'Spirit in the Sky' by Doctor and the Medics ... but it's a bit of a cliche!!! |

This is an old church hymn but works for me every time! I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more, but the master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, and from the waters lifted me, now safe am I. Love lifted me, Love lifted me, WHEN NOTHING ELSE COULD HELP, LOVE LIFTED ME. L Boyle, LVN |

| I dont know about a song title but I was reading greeting cards at a store the other day. A man was standing in the doorway to his office, with his desk and computer, and the devil in his red suit, and tail was standing behind him, when the man said, "So THIS IS HELL, it looks just like my old office" It's a good thing Im not going to hell, cuz when I die I want to be done with nursing. I'm going to take care of all the dogs and cats in heaven, that never got adopted from the shelters. Heaven is perfect, so they wont poop there! |

When I worked at a LTAC, I cared for a patient who loved Bette Midler and she would sing "Wind Beneath My Wings" every time I came into her room. I would hum it all day long and would make her laugh with my rendition once in a while. Her son gave me a Bette Midler CD with that song when she passed. I don't know of a nurse theme song, per se, but that song gets me choked up every time I hear it and makes me think of her and makes me feel good about being a nurse every time I hear it. Oh goodness, it is too early to be this sentimental! LOL! |
