Can anyone direct me to an active refresher program for out-of-practice RNs? I have a Master's in nursing (besides my BSN), have an active RN license, but have not practiced clinically in close to 15 yrs. No one will hire me with such out-of-date clinical experience. I would like to get back into clinical nursing but cannot find any active RN refresher programs in CA. A local hospital said that they could hire me as a nsg assistant at minimum wage, but that is not an acceptable option for me. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I am perplexed as I keep reading about a nursing shortage but it is difficult to find a way to re-enter nursing!
