With the recent news published recently, it is hard to be motivated if you are a nursing student right now in the Philippines.

Global demand for nurses falling, says PNA

[script removed]There are over 400 nursing schools in the Philippines and yes, there are some that are merely capitalizing on the commercialization of the nursing industry.  I think those simply considering nursing profession for the "stability", should really think twice before going to school (at least in the Philippines)

I did read this article and there are some strong points I agree with. There are some schools out there that are not reputable and I cannot fathom some programs offering programs that are not qualified for immigration visas and are taking advantage of people as there is no job market for programs they offer (equivalent to a CNA) in the Philippines. I do think those considering a future as a nurse in the Philippines should seek out the correct information prior to committing to any nursing program. Nursing is a noble profession and there are great universities in the PI with excellent nursing programs.

Due to retrogression, the US is not a strong market for those looking at nursing as a vehicle to migrate to the US right now. And it is true that there is an influx of recent nurse graduates who are finding it difficult to find a job in the country.

Being a nurse here in the philippines is like joining "survivor"... My sister who is a nursing student in a reputable school here is already having doubts whether she'd still continue or not..I on the other hand am considering a career move to pharmacy or respiratory therapy...

To all nurses in the PI,just continue praying to God that there will be a great opportunity outhere for you. There is no impossible on HIm..I know the competition there is severe in going abroad and you have to provide thousands of thousands of pesos just to process the paperworks and placement fee..And the job order is not quite sure..I think its time to get a career move and pray harder ..
