For general Nursing industry information, Australia has a nursing shortage which is on the rise as the population gets older. Your first requirement is to get an IELTS pass of Level 7 or better in all four parts of the IELTS test. Your 2nd requirement is to have a good 3 yrs tertiary trained degree, then your RN, AND have at least 1-2 years paid work, preferably in an acute hospital environment. age limit for nursing school in the Philippines

I hope someone can help me-- I am inquiring if there is an age limit to attend nursing school in the Philippines? A good family friend of mine is originally from the Philippines and grew up here in New York. She has been laid off and is thinking about going back to the Philippines to take up nursing.

She is 42. I have heard (or read) that there is a bit of age discrimination (for nurses) in the Philippines... is it true for nursing school too?

A fake cyber recruiter offering alleged nursing jobs in London was finally arrested in Manila. One of the saddest part of this story is that this fake recruiter is a nurse himself.

It shows you the desperation of nurses- first, to send money to an unknown entity for an opportunity to work abroad. Secondly, for someone who is a nurse himself to create this elaborate criminal scheme.

The Japanese planted a flag on Diàoyú Island. That's no big problem-—we Hong Kong Chinese love Japanese cartoons, Hello Kitty, and shopping in Shinjuku, let alone our round-the-clock obsession with karaoke.

But hold on-—even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with a blatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason: There are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as HK$3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don't flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.

As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell everyone of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.

Focus: Authorities Should Give More Focus On Providing Local Jobs For Nurses

Over the millennium, there has been a drastic increase in the demand for nurses. However, there has also been a drastic increase of nurses in the country. The sad part is, these nurses, or we nurses are stuck here in the Philippines! This is because more than half of the nurse populace have no hospital experience yet.

Given the benefit of the doubt, the government had started the Nurses Assigned in Rural Services (NARS) Program for the unemployed nurses living in rural areas. Hmmmm...at least it would reduce the number of unemployed nurses. But here's the catch- this program is only for nurses below 35 years old, and is a resident of the identified poor municipalities of the country. They would hire at least 5 nurses per municipality and they will work for only 6 months. After that a new batch will replace them Hmmmm..sounds great right? But how about those who doesn't live in those place who compose more than half of the unemployed nurse populace who reside in cities?!
